This is the fourth in the Fuji Shunkei series, which is inspired by the scenery around Mount Fuji, Japan’s most famous mountain.
The Shiun is a stunning transparent violet. ‘Shiun’ translates as ‘purple clouds’, which in Japanese culture is a sign of good fortune. The intricate pattern on the barrel represents a thin layer of cloud, and creates a degree of light refraction and the illusion of depth.
Inside the top of the cap is a curved metal cone shaped to represent Fuji-san. Engraved around the top of the cap is the limited edition number – only 3,776 of these pens will be available worldwide, and equates to the height in metres of Mount Fuji.
14k gold, rhodium-plated nib available in a range of sizes.
Presented in a luxury gift box and supplied with a blue-black ink cartridge, a chrome-plated converter for use with bottled ink and a themed blotter card.
As with other #3776 Century pens, the Slip and Seal mechanism in the cap seals the nib off when the cap is screwed on, using a spring, so the pen can sit for much longer without drying out. This also helps make it safe for using ‘s pigment ink and Classic iron gall inks, as well as any good fountain pen ink.
